Our third instalment in our Canada’s 150th series is ready for you.
This one is for all the movie buffs out there! We decided to dive into the world of cinema – Canada style. While it’s not unknown to many Canadians that the US film industry shoots many movies and TV shows in our great country – we wondered how many notable blockbusters would be on the list.
The more famously well-known shot-in-Canada TV series like the X-Files and Orphan Black are really only the tip of a long list. Turns out the amazing landscapes, cities and landmarks we have – aren’t just good replicas of ‘other’ places – but they’re just amazingly screen worthy!
Now comes the part where we test your knowledge of the silver screen. How many of these famous movies did you know were filmed in Canada? We will even take it one step further. Can you actually name the area where they were filmed? (We’ve included the answers in a separate list below.)

Did any of those titles surprise you? There’s one honourable mention we feel we should make – it was filmed so close to home for us that we can’t help but give it a shout out – is 1993’s Indian Summer. Filmed in the beautiful Algonquin Park – we know many of you will be able to recognize the incredible scenery!
