At the Boathouse Restaurant

Chef Lanny MacLeod

After graduating from the Culinary Management program at Niagara Culinary Institute, Lanny MacLeod sharpened his skills working in the Inns and Wineries of Niagara-on-theLake. It was there in Niagara wine country that he took his grandmother's teachings and added the professional edge.

After attaining his Red Seal, Lanny's thirst for new food experiences took him to Canada's East coast. In Prince Edward Island, Lanny earned his first Executive Chef positions at the beautiful Pearl Café and later at Shaw's Hotel - one of Canada's oldest resorts.

While working for Peller Estates Winery, The Riverbend Inn and Olsen Bakery at Ravine Vineyard, it gave Lanny the confidence to take the next steps in his career.

Lanny's Next Adventure
back to home to ontario

Missing his home province of Ontario, Lanny ventured to Toronto to become the Executive Chef at Victor Restaurant at Hotel Le Germain in the Entertainment District. It was here that Lanny found that his true passion is culinary leadership and the development of new talent. Using his 20-years of experience, he honed his staff and imbued them with the same love of feeding people that he discovered while cooking with his grandmother all those years ago.

After a decade at Victor, Lanny felt like it was time to let his kitchen team blossom into something new. He turned his eyes Northward for new challenges and a change of scenery.

Arriving in Gravenhurst, Lanny fell in love with Taboo Muskoka and especially, the Boathouse Restaurant. He's excited to bring his enthusiasm for great hospitality and amazing food to a new crew of talented chefs and cooks.
