Welcome to Taboo’s Winter Adventure Centre, your complete recreational and social hub designed with seasonal adventures in mind. Suitable for kids and adults alike, you’ll be sure to find a winter activity to your liking.
Nothing feels more like Muskoka than sitting near the crackling fire with a hot beverage. Weather permitting, bonfires will take place at Taboo daily, and will be tended by staff. Visit the bonfire pit during specific times for complimentary hot chocolate, marshmallows or S’mores, or simply warm up
in a Muskoka chair after exploring all that Taboo has to offer.
Come explore over 8km of diverse hiking trails and 5km of mountain bike trails.
Cross Country Skiing
Rent equipment through the Winter Adventure Centre and get your heart rate up while taking in the sights and sounds of the season. With a mixture of elevations and paths to choose from, our maintained trails provide the perfect surface for this
classic Canadian winter past-time. Cross country skis are available to rent in a
variety of sizes.
Muskoka in the winter is just as beautiful as any other season! Taboo boasts an
expansive trail system stretching 10 kilometers in length, perfect for expert and
inexperienced snow shoe-ers alike. Glimpse the winter wonderland that is the
Taboo Parklands; consisting of multiple species of maple, spruce and hemlock trees,
and situated amidst the scenic Canadian Shield, venture out on your own or consult
the Recreation Agenda to find out when you can participate in Guided Snow Shoes hikes. Snow shoes are available to rent in a variety of sizes.
Skating & Hockey
Whether you’re a beginner or someone who like to skate laps, you’ll be sure to enjoy use of our spacious rink – perfect for free skating or pond hockey. Nets, sticks and pucks are provided.
Paint a Paddle
Customize your own paddle to take a piece of Muskoka back home with you!

Create a Critter
Make your new stuffy best friend! Build your stuffy, choose its name, and decorate their t-shirt. All stuffies are types of animals found in Ontario.
