Top 10 Hockey Moments
We have selected Canada’s sport for the next list in our Canada’s 150th series.
Without a doubt, Canada is the home of hockey, right?! (Cue the old Hockey Night in Canada theme song in your head. Yes, we’re old school and are talking about the one from the CBC!) I’m sure there are a few countries around the world who might argue our claim, but we have a lot of gold medals, trophies and pride to back this up!
We used this highly unscientific method to devise our list. Ready for it? Do you remember where you were when….(fill in the blank)? And hey – don’t worry – we’ll fill in the blanks for you below.
Let’s be honest, growing up – no matter where you were in the house when the theme song of Hockey Night in Canada came on the TV it was like everything stopped, and families gathered around to watch their beloved sport. (It’s still in your head right? You can thank us later – you’ll be humming it all day!)
Time to take a look at the moments that stopped a nation in its track while we watched with anticipation, following every pass, shot, bodycheck, penalty and goal. This favourite pastime of Canada’s is a great sport which can unite an entire country with the drop of a puck or a flashing red light!
As you go through this list, it’s sure to stir up some old memories of not just where you were, but also maybe who you were with. This is our Top 10 Hockey Moments.
Where were you when…..
