Top 10 Golfers
With our incredible course continually ranked among the top 100 in Canada – you can’t be surprised with our inclusion of this particular list in our Canada’s 150th series. This is our Top 10 Canadian Golfers.
The fact is just about everyone knows Canada is renowned for being the home of hockey as well as home to some of the best players in the game. But what you maybe didn’t know is that we also have a great talent pool of golfers.
We would also guess that every clubhouse throughout Canada has probably debated the question “Who is the greatest Canadian golf talent of all time?”. While Canada has never necessarily had a large presence on the PGA or LPGA Tours, Canadian golfers have produced a very respectable list of accomplishments. Most noteworthy, in our opinion, is Mike Weir capturing the 2003 Masters tournament. His win there ranks at or near the top of all Canadian accomplishments in golf. It would definitely seem like it was one of those memorable moments in sports for all of us here.
And then, just when we thought we had the list nailed down, the question became whether or not you had to have been on the PGA or LPGA Tour to make the list. Our short answer: No. Rather, we realized that there are some pretty awesome resumes from Canadian golfers around the world at the amateur level, so we decided we also wanted to include them on our list.
Here is our list – as golf fans – we’re immensely proud of the Canadian talent listed below!

- George Knudson
- Stan Leonard
